About This Project

Ancestry, the world’s largest online family history resource, built their headquarters at The Corporate Center at Traverse Mountain in Lehi, Utah. This building is a four story, 210,000 square-feet building. The site offers unique views of Mount Timpanogos and the surrounding valley as well as access to an array of trail systems and open spaces in the area. There is also a large parking structure, including 1,000 stalls, on site as well as various site amenities.

Our Work

Ensign Engineering and Land Surveying worked with the complications of the existing project site, which was bounded by Traverse Terrace Drive on the north, Traverse Mountain Office Phase 1 to the east, and Traverse Parkway to the south. These constraints required the site design to accommodate more than 80-feet of vertical fall. The design team worked through various site configurations utilizing the parking structure, retaining walls, and landscape areas to make up the dramatic elevation.

Ensign knew it was also critical to consider how the parking structure and office building would sit within the larger hillside in an effort to limit larger cuts and fills on the site. They also considered the view it would create for office tenants, and these views ended being one of the trademark aspects of the project as a whole.
